Face Up: The Treatment I Thought Would Lift My Face… But Ended Up Resetting My Whole System
If you’ve been following this series, you’ll know this journey isn’t about chasing youth.
It’s about feeling well. Clear. Energised. At home in my body.
Hydrasilk gave my skin a beautiful reset. BBL started working on tone, clarity and collagen from a deeper level.
But this next treatment?
This one surprised me.
Not because of what it did to my face…
But because of what it did to my entire nervous system.
What Face Up Is (On Paper)
Face Up is often described as a lifting and toning facial.
Think:
• sculpting
• de-puffing
• releasing facial tension
• improving circulation
• supporting lymphatic drainage
It works deeply through the muscles of the face, jaw, neck and décolletage to create a more lifted, relaxed and refreshed appearance.
A natural “lift” without injectables.
Which, of course, sounded great.
But what I didn’t expect…
was what was happening beneath the surface.
What I Experienced (Off Paper)
Within minutes of the treatment starting, my body did something I didn’t consciously choose.
It exhaled.
Not just a “that feels nice” exhale.
A deep, involuntary downshift.
As someone who works in embodiment and nervous system regulation, I’m very aware of these shifts.
And this was significant.
More than a body massage. More than any facial I’ve ever had.
My whole system softened.
Why This Happens (And Why It Matters)
Here’s the part that fascinated me.
The face, jaw, ears and neck are rich in branches of the vagus nerve - the main nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system (the part responsible for rest, repair and regulation).
When these areas are stimulated through slow, intentional, rhythmic touch… you’re not just working on muscles.
You’re toning the vagus nerve.
Which sends a signal to the body:
You’re safe now. You can come out of fight, flight or freeze.
And when that happens?
• heart rate slows
• breathing deepens
• muscle tension releases
• the mind quiets
• the body moves into repair mode
This is why, for me, it went beyond relaxation.
It felt like a full nervous system reset.
Why It Felt Even More Powerful Than a Body Massage
Body massage works through large muscle groups.
And it’s beautiful.
But Face Up works through some of the most neurologically sensitive areas in the body.
The jaw (where many of us hold unprocessed tension).
Around the ears (a key access point for vagal stimulation).
The scalp.
The neck.
These areas are directly linked to our stress response.
So when tension is released here, the shift can be faster and more profound.
It’s like going straight to the control panel.
The Sensation (Real Talk)
This isn’t a fluffy, barely-there facial.
It’s intentional.
At times, there was tenderness as Meg worked through areas holding deeper tension - particularly around the jaw and neck muscles for me.
But it was the kind of pressure where you think:
“Oh… that’s exactly where I needed that.”
A good release.
Not overwhelming.
Just honest work being done in the body.
The Visible Results
Yes - I noticed them … and whilst they weren’t dramatic for the first session, I can definitely say my face looked:
• softer
• less puffy
• more relaxed
• subtly lifted
That “I’ve had a really good sleep and a holiday” kind of look.
But if I’m being completely honest…
that wasn’t the part that stayed with me.
The Real Result
It was my state.
That night, I slept deeply.
The kind of sleep where your body actually feels like it’s doing what it’s meant to do - restoring, recalibrating, repairing.
And the next day?
Clear. Grounded. Energised in a clean, steady way.
Not wired.
Not pushing.
Just… well.
Who This Is Really For
If you’re feeling:
• stressed
• wired but tired
• emotionally or physically tense
• disconnected from your body
• stuck in that constant low-level “on edge” state
This treatment is so much more than aesthetic.
It’s what I would call silent therapy.
No talking. No processing. No effort required.
Just your body being guided back into a state it recognises… but may have forgotten.
Final Thoughts
Face Up might be positioned as a lifting facial.
And yes, it absolutely delivers on that.
But for me?
The real value was in how it made me feel.
Because when your nervous system softens…
your face softens.
Your energy changes.
Your presence shifts.
And that’s the kind of “result” you can’t bottle.
Next in My Radiance Reset
We’re now at the point in the journey where everything begins to build.
The foundation is there. The skin is responding. The system is more regulated.
And from here… we refine, strengthen and elevate.
I’ll be sharing what comes next very soon.
But if you’ve been feeling like your body is holding more than just skin-deep tension…
Face Up might just be the treatment you didn’t know you needed.
