Retinol 1.0 Anti-Ageing Night Cream
Warning: Retinol 1.0 is only intended for those who already have experience with Retinol 0.5. Retinol 1.0 is a very high-strength retinol product, and should only be used in the evening. To avoid irritating the skin, use a lipid-rich moisturiser such as Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti Ageing Moisturiser after application of the 1.0 retinol to seal in moisture. SkinCeuticals recommends you consult a skincare professional before starting use of a product with this high a concentration of retinol. Retinol increases skin cell turnover and this process makes the skin extra sensitive to the effects of the sun. It's essential to use a broad spectrum, high SPF sunscreen such as Skinceuticals Ultra Facial Defense SPF50 when using this retinol product.
Retinol 1.0 anti-ageing cream is ideal for ageing, sun-damaged skin that has been pre-conditioned using SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5. This anti-ageing retinol cream is formulated with a concentration of 1.0% pure retinol and comforting chamomile-derived bisabolol. SkinCeuticals uses an advanced stabilisation system in the product to release the 1% retinol evenly for maximum efficacy. Retinol 1.0 can help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin discolouration, while minimising blemishes and the visible appearance of pores.
How to use
Having cleansed your face, apply a thin layer of the moisturiser and allow to dry (regardless of concentration, retinol should not be applied to damp skin as it may be absorbed more deeply and cause irritation). Once skin is dry, apply a pea-sized amount of Retinol 1.0 night cream, closely followed by a second layer of moisturiser to sandwich moisture in. Allow for full absorption before applying other products and limit initial use of retinol to once or twice weekly. Gradually increase the frequency to every other night, then every night as tolerance builds. SkinCeuticals recommends users new to retinol start with Retinol 0.3 , progress to Retinol 0.5 and only then to Retinol 1.0.
